How ACCA Unlocked My Potential

Hi everyone, I’m Dhruv Sanghvi, an ACCA affiliate. Today, I want to share my ACCA journey with you all. I wanted to pursue some qualifications while pursuing graduation from Narsee Monjee College Mumbai. For many, choosing a career path is a daunting task. But for me, the decision was clear: ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), Because it offered a passport to a global career, a world of possibilities resonated deeply with my ambitions.

My journey began with my first job as a SAP Functional Consultant at Fourth Signal while pursuing my ACCA qualifications. This role exposed me to the intricacies of financial systems, and thanks to my ACCA foundation, I possessed a strong understanding of financial statements. This gave me a distinct advantage, allowing me to grasp complex processes and excel in my role.

But my ambition didn’t stop there. I craved a deeper understanding of financial operations, leading me to transition to an Internal Auditor role. This is where ACCA truly came into its own. During the Infosys buyback audit, I was able to leverage the knowledge and skills I had acquired through ACCA. It wasn’t just about the technical aspects but about applying critical thinking, analyzing complex data, and communicating effectively – all areas where ACCA had equipped me well.

The impact of ACCA was noticed. Compared to my colleagues, I had a head start. My understanding of financial processes, audit methodologies, and reporting standards was sharper, allowing me to contribute meaningfully and progress quickly.

Looking back, choosing ACCA was not just about qualifications but about unlocking potential. It gave me the confidence to pursue global opportunities, equipped me with the skills to excel in challenging roles, and ultimately, provided a head start in my career.
